San Diego State University presents the Vietnamese Student Association Modern Dance Team! VSA Modern is a branch out of VSA, and its main style is open-style choreography with its roots in Hip-Hop. VSA Modern is a collegiate-level competitive dance team that competes around the Southern California area. Although auditions are required to join our competitive team, we encourage people of all skill levels and dance backgrounds to join us!

MISSION STATEMENT: A community of diverse individuals who live through the art of dance and seek to promote growth, inclusivity, and support of one another as an extension of SDSU VSA.

Modern Mondays are our WEEKLY WORKSHOPS on Mondays, 7-9PM @ Parking Structure 3 Level 4! Our goal for these workshops are to provide a safe, positive, and constructive environment for students to learn choreography for an affordable price. All workshops are free for SDSU students/alum and VSAM members/alum. HOWEVER, if you are NOT associated with either SDSU or VSAM, they are $5 for each person. Each week, we invite choreographers from all over Southern California who are heavily involved in the dance community. These choreographers come from many different collegiate and professional level teams such as 220, SGBM, Choreo Cookies, GRV, GwownUps and The GOOD Project. These workshops are a great way to meet new friends and begin your dance journey!
